In her own words:

Hi, I'm Adriana Fernandez and I am so proud to say that I have been able to serve our community as the 2008/09 Miss Teen Valencia! I am currently a senior at Hart who has been involved in cheerleading and journalism throughout my high school career. Since the beginning of High School I learned a very important skill: balancing my time. Between A.P. classes and extracurricular activities I never thought I could take on another big project. So, when I heard of the pageant through a friend I have to admit I was a little hesitant, thinking that I would have too much on my plate. The pageant did the complete opposite; it taught me to balance my time more effectively and have fun while participating and volunteering at all of the community events.

This was my first pageant and it has taught me so many great things and introduced me to so many new friends. From every grand opening to all of the chamber mixers, the Sheriff Chili Cook off, and all of the amazing holiday events, I have gotten the chance to really feel like a part of my community and share the experience with all of my friends! One event that will always take a big place in my heart was the holiday parade in Hollywood that all of the teen girls were invited to. We got to share the red carpet alongside all of the Disney celebrities and end the night with a concert from Demi lavato. To me that was the icing on top of the cake =]

I'm now drawing my pageant year to a close, but I will never forget my amazing year! I hope many girls come to the pageant so I can pass my crown on to someone knowing that she will have the same great time that I had. And remember: EVERY girl deserves a crown =] so never feel too shy to come because everyone in the pageant is so welcoming and friendly. Thank you to my supporting family, my sponsors, all my friends and pageant sisters, and Ms. Mardi our pageant director, I would have never gotten this far without all of you.
