In her own words:

Hello! I'm Brandi Aguilar and I am 19 years old and I currently go to College of the Canyons with a major in Communications. I graduated from Saugus High School in 2007 and I have been an actress since I was a child, doing some commercials and modeling, and currently filming a sitcom which will air soon.

However, my parents have always told me, ever since I was born, that knowledge is one of the key ingredients to life, and in order to get that knowledge, college was the sure way to gain it. So far, I absolutely love my college experience! I have learned so much, and I plan to transfer to a 4-year-university at the end of 2009. But with college, also comes the need to pay for your college education. So when I had heard about the Miss. SCV pageant program, I thought it would be a great thing to earn some money for my future education, but not only that, but to do volunteer work, which I love to do, and give back to Santa Clarita (a wonderful and safe city to live in), and to learn more about myself! And of course, to wear pretty dresses for the actual pageant, what girl doesn't love big, colorful ball-gowns and sparkly dresses?!

When I won the title of Miss Santa Clarita Spirit, I was so happy and extremely excited to help in the community and attend events! . As Miss SCV Spirit, whenever I go to an event, I am always very, very spirited and ready to cheer on any accomplishment that needs cheering! Most of the events the pageant title-holders attend are fundraisers and charities, which always needs peppy and bubbly people like myself to make the environment joyful and fun.

My hope is that every young girl in Santa Clarita will participate in the Miss SCV Program because it develops confidence, which is important for any young lady to succeed in life. I am a firm believer that any person is successful because of the confidence they display and have within themselves. You will feel a sense of accomplishment after a day of volunteering, because you will know that you helped make a difference, and because of that, someone's future will be much brighter.

I want to thank Ms. Mardi, the director of the pageant, for her belief in me from Day 1, when I didn't even believe in myself. I would also like to thank my Mom and Dad for supporting me in this endeavor and for being amazing parents to my sister and I. To all of the other girls I worked with this past year, you're a blast! I hope all of your dreams come true! "The spirit and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occour..."
