In her own words:
Hello, I am the 27th reigning Miss Santa Clarita Valley. I attended Saugus High School were I was on the National award winning dance team which taught me the value of hard work and that team work will overcome any obstacle. I am 20 years old and I just received my associate’s degree from College of the Canyons and I’m in the process of transferring to a four year university to purse a career in to be an elementary school teacher. I’ve always felt a special bond with children; which is why I currently work at a local child care for the Saugus Union School District.
This is my first year representing The Miss Santa Clarita Scholarship Program and I am honored to represent the Santa Clarita Valley. I have already completed over 100 hours of community service and have been able to meet many significant people in the Santa Clarita Valley. Over the course of the year I have been able to participate in Chamber of Commerce functions, grand openings, Friday night Jazz Festivals at the Hyatt, and helping people in need such as the Hunger Defense Fund and the Michael Hofflein Foundation. One of my favorite events was the Sheriff’s Chili Cook-Off where I was able to meet many people who help make Santa Clarita Valley a safe place to live.
This pageant has not only opened the doors for me to help others but I have been able to meet many amazing girls who want to make a difference too. I have made friendships that I know will last for a life time. The wonderful, talented woman that is responsible for all of this is Ms. Mardi Rivetti. She is an amazing woman who gives us everything she has to make sure that we are able to make the most of our year.
Aside from attending school, working, and volunteering my time at city events, I love to dance, go to the beach, and spend time with my family and friends. I always have a camera with me because I love taking pictures and scrap booking my work.
I thank God for all that He has provided me with and I am so very lucky to be apart of this incredible program.
