In her own words:
When I first moved to Santa Clarita I knew there would be one thing in store for me: opportunity. My family and I moved here in the year of 1998. At first I was nervous to be part of a new community, with new people, and new places. I was silly to even be nervous at all! I enjoy my community, schools, friends, and businesses which make this Valley so great. I would have to say that the people are the heart of Santa Clarita. The atmosphere here is enjoyable and comfortable. I love this town and my community.
I first heard of the Miss Santa Clarita Scholarship Program through the website. I told one of my best friends about it and she convinced me to enter. That friend is currently Miss Teen Valencia - Adriana Fernandez! I am honored to be part of such a wonderful program. I met many, many girls whom I feel close to through this pageant. I loved going to practices and rehearsals just so I can be with all the girls. I mean, who doesn't like dressing up or walking like a model for an hour or two? However that is not what the pageant is all about.
The regional queens, community queens, and princesses all have a common goal: to make the community a better place. There are many grand openings, chamber mixers, Jazz Festivals, and other events that occur in our Valley which I can guarantee one of our crown ladies attend to. We attend the events to help in any way we can.
I am graduating from Hart High School and plan to attend college. I was in cheerleading for three years and am now currently the Editor of Chief of yearbook class and in the H.A.P.E. (Helping Abandon Animals Everywhere) Club. Having time management is a must for my life! I love my family very much and they have supported me from the beginning to the end. My close friends have helped me through it all, especially this year being my last year of high school. I want to also thank my Sponsors, my Dentist Dr. Kirst, my old gymnastics teacher Shelly from Gym Cheer USA, my car dealer from the Saturn Dealership, and of course my favorite place in the world, Pinkberry!
So far I am enjoying the time I spend with my fellow pageant girls and serving my community. This year has certainly been a memorable one for me and one I will never forget. I loved it so much I may even run again next year for the Miss division! I don't want this year to end but I am really excited to meet all the new girls who will be joining our pageant family.
